GOD’S FAVOURITE by Neil Simon
Tentatively late June – early July

In a Long Island mansion, there dwells a pious, God-fearing tycoon named Joe Benjamin and his family: a long-suffering wife, Rose, a prodigal son, David, a pair of kooky twins, Ben and Sarah, and the maid and butler, Mady and Morris. One night a messenger from God, Sidney Lipton (with a big G on his sweatshirt) arrives, and, as in the biblical story, goes through all manner of temptations to get Joe Benjamin to renounce God. When he refuses, he is visited by all the afflictions imaginable. Does he stand firm? Watch and find out!

BEDROOM FARCE by Alan Ayckbourn
12th to 14th January, 2007

Written by legendary British playwright Alan Ayckbourn, “Bedroom Farce” tells of four married couples who are at different stages in their relationships, and whose lives intersect over the course of an evening.

Ernest and Delia go out to dinner to celebrate their wedding anniversary. When this is a failure they return home and prepare to celebrate with pilchards on toast in bed. Malcolm and Kate are preparing a house-warming party. Nick and Jan have been invited to this but Nick has hurt his back and prepares to rest quietly in bed. All three preparations are doomed, however, to disaster by the marital problems of Trevor (son of Ernest and Delia) and his wife Susannah, who descend on each couple in turn leaving chaos in their wake, finally taking over the bedroom (and bed) of long suffering Malcolm and Kate.

The problem couple’s quirky antics and self-absorbed nature becomes a test to the other six people, and more interestingly, a test of their marriage. Are their love unions fragile or are they the real thing?
